The Russellville Fire Department is a career department located in Russellville, Alabama. The department has a total of 20 paid members on staff and 10 volunteer fire ground support members. Fire department staff responds to a variety of emergency calls from two stations strategically placed within the Russellville city limits. The department maintains a minimum of five full-time staff on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The Russellville Fire Department serves a primary response area of 13.4 square miles to approximately 10,000 citizens. The department responds to an average of 1,000 emergency calls each year and also provides mutual aid to several volunteer departments in Franklin County. The agency carries an ISO rating of 4 and continues to improve the services offered to the citizens. The fire department is proud to offer a variety of emergency services to the community of Russellville that include fire suppression, wild-land fire services, vehicle accident response, and non-transport ALS emergency medical care. Specialized rescue services are also offered by the department that include vehicle extrication, confined space rescue, trench rescue, high-angle rescue, dive team response and hazardous materials response. The department also operates one of ten medium rescue teams in the state that is deployed under the Alabama Emergency Management Agency’s mutual assistance program.
